Thanks Ro, I have some ideas but I'm going to do some research to see if any make plausible 2-course child veggie meals. I might still ask you so sit tight and I'll let you know.

Sorry, I forgot about this blog and it got buried.
Course is going okay although some of the work is a bit harder. Managed to get the 2-course meal homework done. Other news: after watching POTC 1-3 lately, I felt like having a go at making my own POTC2. It's hard and I don't know how much sense it makes but I have a few scenes written so far. I'm looking for anyone to read and perhaps help out. I might never finish the story because I'm good at starting but not finishing! I emailed Jeds to see if she knows anyone to read who isn't likely to pull the whole thing to pieces (that's what stopped me finishing some stories in the past). I'll try to write lots more and make it better. |

Got a hard ongoing project to do for my course, working with 2 other girls (both in their 30's so older than me). We have a few months to do it though.
Other work isn't too bad and is getting done. My tutor so far never has to ask me to add/redo any homework and always says it's a very high standard Got the things done today that I planned to inc. Secret Santas drawing and emailing. Another task I want to start soon is sending out Christmas cards including to my fellow students. Then it'll be wrapping presents - mostly joint ones to families as it was more economical for me this year. I hope I can spend more next Christmas. Within the last 2 weeks, I have watched POTC 2 and 3 three times each!!! But I haven't quite learned where all the tunes are in the films or many of the quotes yet. I never used to watch films so repetitively so it shows how great they are!! Everyone wish/pray for more POTC films in the not too distant future! I'll try to update again soon. |

Hehe soon you'll be like me with LOTR....hear a piece of music, known the exact scene in the film....and spout the whole script off by heart......but then I *am* a geek
Glad everything's going really well with the course...yay for you!! |

I'm so pleased you were able to keep going with the course. I know just what its like when you're studying and trying to fit everything in.
And good luck with the POTC too! |

Got to sort out something with the jobcentre after getting a letter this morning. I'm due to sign on tomorrow so I'm going to talk to them then. I had no idea I was going to get a letter which can't be right. My week was going well before that.

I've given out nearly all my Xmas cards now but I have to save my boyf's until I see him next Fri for a long weekend
The idea I had for part-time work wasn't good as I was told by Mum because that job makes you do work u don't get paid for unless you get orders. Going to try to find a local part-time job in the New Year. Having a nice rest from trying to get several pieces of homework done in a week (I was doing it so my homework didn't add up over the weeks) and from nursery. There's one lady who's sometimes in charge and she's really bossy and I'm hoping I don't have to see her much when nursery restarts. And we're due an Ofsted inspection in Jan apparently - which I'm dreading. Getting some stress lately from some nuisance neighbours who are very loud, noisy and also want to upset us and don't care about the police. At the moment we're scared to be out alone in the dark because the neighbours have lots of friends and we're worried they might gang up against us. Hopefully the police or council will have enough reason to get rid of the neighbours soon. I've started doing Yoga again but it's hard making the time for it and also I've got to relearn the routines. I'll get back into it if I can just make time regularly to do it. I read new posts on these forums every 2 days, so I have a bit of catching up to do each time. |

Jobcentre business isn't cleared up yet, they needed more info after making me wait 1 month nervously for a decision. Taking the form to my local jobcentre when I sign on tomorrow and they'll pass it along for me. I have to make them sign something so they can't later say I never gave them the form. I hate the jobcentre, probably mostly because I don't get the full amount for having savings for the future (not for being unemployed, for when I need to buy things like maybe furniture etc).
Had a nice long weekend at Boyf's. First he had a cold, then I got it so we didn't do some of the things we had been hoping too. We're hoping to go bowling together this month instead. After seeing how fast his new laptop is, it's made me think that when I need a new PC, I could get a laptop which is much cheaper and takes up less space. Not sure of any cons of laptops yet. If anyone here knows any bad sides of lap tops please tell me. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year. |

Happy new year , Lu. I have a laptop and find it very useful. One thing you may have to be careful of (I do) is that i cant use a touchpad keyboard. I have a repetitive strain injury that screwed up my hands and so I have to use the mouse - either a plug in one at the side which means you need a desk with it, or a keyboard with a nipple in the centre of it.
Otherwise, I always use a laptop at home. Means I can take it everywhere with me. |

I asked my middle brother who knows a lot about computers inc. laptops and he was saying not all games work properly on laptops so I might have a problem with that aspect if I buy a laptop. Also you can't replace things in a laptop so it could be cheaper to buy a pc in the longterm when I need a new computer. Going to get my new graphics card put into my pc next weekend by my brother so lets hope it doesnt upset my pc like the last time I had one put it. My brother said it will probably be okay, things can stop working at any time so the chances aren't that high.
My course starts again on friday so I'll be getting homework again soon. I hope I manage the project I have to do with two other girls, at the moment I don't know what we're going to do for it (one of them was away most of Dec so we couldn't talk over Christmas). |

Some weeks I don't have much homework which gives me a rest from the weeks when I get lots. You might get a lot more than me though if you are doing full-time studying.
I really hope it won't take me long to get a nursery job after this because it's the sort of job I love doing (judging by how much I enjoy my volunteering). I want to get as far away from working in an office as poss. Two days until my first class of 2008! |

On Tuesday it was a bit hectic cos we also had 2 two-year olds in the 3-5 room (few staff were away so we had to combine the two groups). I got to put my first
nappy on a 3 year old but had to get help cos I couldnt see how the tabs fastened the nappy and I didn't want to ruin the nappy. Also I was asked to
prepare the tables for snacktime and I've never had that to do on my own before (I felt it was an extra responsibility). Sometimes I do feel like I'm
being taken advantage off as I most of the time have to wash up and dry up because I'm the lowest rank and free help. But talking to and playing with the
children makes it worthwhile. And maybe it will convince them to employ me if they get a vacancy in the not too distant future. I'm hoping that would
happen as I'm already used to that nursery.
Coursework may be finished by April so hopefully we wouldn't be needed to attend class so I might try to find a nursery or some other job temporarily until I can get nursery work. Got my first observation by my tutor at nursery next Thurs and a class presentation on the Fri the day after May update later today if I have more news after Nursery. Bye for now. |

That's great Lu! You should keep going and the group presentation won't be as bad as you think. Just imagine that the adults are kids and you're
talking to a group of children...it'll make you less nervous.
And good you're getting time with your b/f. |
